Sunshine, Shadow

Pale and All Black

I love how this shoot was like two sides of me: light and dark. The lighting was peculiar,  in Winter the light just escapes so quickly… But I really like this street, it’s my go to to photograph. The day was incredibly warm too! Surprisingly so for the time of year. In the photos without the jacket I wasn’t one bit cold in the Sun. (A good trick too to wear a vest under your coat or jacket for extra warmth) Turned out to be such a lovely, relaxing day in one of my favorite neighbourhoods!
This look could have been/could be a casual Holiday look minus the jacket and vest. I would definitely wear a coat at night. Or if not Christmas (By the way if you wasn’t aware Russian Orthodox Christmas is in January!) it is perfect for literally anything.

The bag and sneakers

This crossbody is by this cool, contemporary Lithuanian brand Kartu based in my home city of Kaunas. They handmade each piece from the imported Italian leather. The quality is really outstanding and the most important for me, not many people, especially here in NYC will have that.
I must tell you I bought these sneakers long time ago but had to return because of a small dip on the top of the sole, ever since then I literally stalked Asos website until they became available once again. Now I wear them everywhere! One of those purchases that is definitely worth it. I always tried to approach everything I buy with a thought of how many things it will go with in my closet and where will I wear it to. Always have to justify the cost per wear! 😉
