Rammstein

Rammstein

I was a feeling hard to describe… And even now I still cannot believe it happened…

If you’ve admired someone’s gift with words, voice, vocals, stature, you will understand what I mean. He had inspired many drawings and two stories… I have ‘In Stillen Nächten’ in three languages including my native Russian…

Exactly one year ago

I didn’t have an opportunity to attend festivals the year prior so when it was announced that Rammstein will be coming back to the States the following year me and Rebecca jumped onto the opportunity. Or more like hurdled ourselves onto it.

Getting tickets for large concerts is crazy, I found out first hand, and this one was my first. Many people were buying at once as soon as the tickets went live, (Of course!) the site kept re-loading, there were different prices, the tickets had almost sold out… And the pit wasn’t available!!! (Or somehow bought out in advance..?) But finally we got in. Somewhere in the middle of the 15000 people that were at the venue.

Me and R on the way

We took two MTA Subway, LIRR and a bus to get to Jones Beach. We were so nervous to miss the train and then we didn’t even know about the bus or that you could use the same MetroCard. 😀 But as soon as we got off the LIRR there across the street were the like-minders: a large group of people wearing the tell-tale black t’s. So we just followed them!

                                                                                    Waiting in line

The picturesque location and the amphitheater by the Zachs Bay

3Teeth were the cover band and then a brief intermission afterwards. R+ didn’t begin to play until it was nearly dark.

I have to admit I was nervous. Perhaps it is silly but it was my first big show and seeing someone I really am inspired by. The wait seemed so long even though it was just an hour…

I am wearing:

Asos jeans, vest and boots

When the show had began (The countdown video is bellow) the guitarists were lowered onstage on two platforms and you got a rush. It was really cool! And then Till tap danced onto the stage to the intro of ‘Ja, Nein, Rammstein’. At that moment as if the air had suddenly lacked O2, my shaking hands went to cover my lips, and it had become real… He does exist!

The show had began!

One thing about Rammstein concerts is the Fire! I really enjoyed the pyrotechnics. It was also nice to warm up! (The heat was felt all the way to where we were!)

Some cool fans we met on the way back. The boys from Madam’s animal and Else who came all the way from Norway

I must say I have done everything to enjoy that experience to the fullest. And that is one of the reasons why these videos are short and I do not have more photographs of the concert. Have you ever went somewhere and you took so many photos that the actual experience has escaped you? I didn’t want that to happen so barely took my eyes off Till. 😉

What type of music do you listen to? What are your favorite songs?
