Acid serums: Anti-aging, skin tone, acne

Anytime I read any articles about a product or an issue for instance I almost always skip to the end, to the conclusion. The thing is most of the time, I don’t have it- the time I mean. So this time I will write this as compact and efficient as possible.

My Skin

It’s combination. My concerns are, uneven tone, fine lines, congested pores and blemishes.

Typology

Right before the start of the last summer my skin wasn’t doing great. The acne marks, hormonal spots, overall tone… I decided to try something stronger. Acids. Now because I’m still nursing our milk monster there are only a few I can use. (I Avoid AHA/BHA like Salicylic Acid, also Retinol and don’t use anything with Benzoyl Peroxide, Formaldehyde and Phtalates.)

I found Typology through an Instagram ad and was very impressed with their aesthetic. What made me happy too were their prices and concentration of serums, they were much stronger than what I have used before. Also and very important- nothing extra in ingredients!

I saw results within a month. Actually you do see that telltale glow much quicker! But the skin tone improvement needs time.

Morning

I use:

  • Niacinamide Toner 7%
  • Niacinamide Serum 12%

I used to use the Azelaic Acid 10% in the mornings in the summer as well but switched to the evening. It is very mattifying so better this way in colder Fall/Winter air.

Niacinamide is literal magic. If I could only keep one ingredient I would choose it. If you haven’t tried it and not allergic you absolutely must. The glow shows after the first use!

If my skin needs it I use an oil serum (different brand) before following it with Typology’s tinted serum (I’m in love it’s such natural coverage!) and concealer under eye in Fair. (I really do need it- my dark circles have dark circles!)

Evening

After washing my face I apply:

  • Niacinamide toner 7% Following with
  • Glycolic Acid 10%
  • Lactic Acid 10% and
  • Azelaic Acid 10%

Waiting for each to absorb before applying the next one. I usually don’t apply any other moisturizing products to my face, safe the eye area since acids don’t go there.

And that is as simple as that! Provided you are not allergic or don’t have any adverse reaction to acids or are advised otherwise by your doctor STICK TO IT and you will see results! And don’t forget to use Mineral Sunscreen! Acids make your skin more sensitive to the Sun. That is also why Glycolic and Lactic only used at night.

I found what works for me but if you are also not the fan of Acids Typology have lots of other products that might work for you! (They also have tinted lip and cheek balms and lip oils and have recently added a deodorant!)

Another bonus they ship super fast from France!
